Claudia Sweet Madeira Gown
This softly flowing batiste gown will dress up your precious baby girl on any special day. Shorter than our traditional christening gowns – yet just as creative as our other day-gowns – it maintains those extra special touches that make our longer heirloom gowns so very unique. Fabric gathers, laces and silk satin ribbons add those feminine touches. Topping it off – we added simply elegant Madeira Applique cascading down the front. Madeira Applique is a centuries-old technique, to accent fabrics on garments and linens believed to have been first created by peasant women on an island off the coast of Portugal.
The yoke is trimmed with a picot-edged bias, while sleeves end in cotton beading attached to deep French lace. The hem is finished with cotton bridging and French lace; the slip is trimmed in a similar lace hem.
This gown makes a beautiful girl’s gown for any special day you want to celebrate.
